The Year Without A Santa Claus was a T.V. special on NBC in the early 70's featuring Mickey Rooney and Shirley Booth. The Year Without A Santa Claus is about the year Santa Claus gets the flu and depressed by his feeling that people have lost the Christmas spirit and decides to skip Christmas that year. To prove to Santa that people still care his Elves go off to find Chrismtas Cheer, unfortunately the Elves make a big mess out of it and need Mrs. Claus to come in and help get them out of trouble.

Key to the movie are the Miser Brothers, Heat Miser and Snow Miser. These two are offspring of Mother Nature with Heat Miser responsible for the nice weather in Southtown and Snow Miser responsible for the horrible weather in the North Pole. During the show the elves, Mrs. Claus and eventurally Mother Nature try to get the two brothers (who are total opposites of each other and do not work well together) to switch locations and bring a nice spring day to the North Pole and snow to Southtown.
